Can you seal mason jars with the GS53?

Yes! You can seal mason jars that fit in the GS53 chamber (up to a half gallon jar on its side), or by using external accessories.

Can I use FoodSaver or other brand bags in the GS53 chamber vacuum sealer?

Yes, you can use any brand regular vacuum sealer bag in the GS53. However, we recommend using chamber vacuum pouches, as they are much more cost effective than embossed/textured vacuum sealer bags.

What is the largest bag size that will fit in the GS53?

The largest bag size that fits in the GS53 is 12"x16".

Can you vacuum seal Mylar bags with the GS53?

You can vacuum seal a mylar bag by adjusting the seal time setting. We recommend using Avid Armor mylar vacuum pouches. If you choose to use another brand, make sure the bags are 7 mil or less to ensure a positive seal.

How do I vacuum seal liquids in the GS53 chamber sealer?

One of the key benefits of a chamber vacuum sealer is being able to seal liquids with ease. The GS53 is made to create a maximum level of vacuum when sealing all types of food, but also excels at effectively vacuum sealing any liquid.

How does marinating work on the GS53?

While the chamber is under vacuum, this allows the pores of the meat to open up and infuse the marinade into the meat much faster than a regular marinating process. We suggest putting your item and marinade in a shallow container or pouch.

How do I vacuum seal delicate or soft items in the GS53 chamber sealer?

Vacuum Sealing delicate items can be more challenging in the GS53 than when using a traditional sealer. We recommend setting the vacuum time setting to 6 seconds and using the maximum size pouch to achieve a light vacuum without crushing your content

How do I vacuum seal dry goods in the GS53 chamber sealer?

When vacuum sealing dry goods such as flour, spices, freeze dried food, etc., it is important to fill up your chamber pouch with about 3"-4" of headspace left. When using mason jars or canisters, ensure there is a minimum of 2" of headspace.

What is the warranty of the GS53?

The GS53 comes with a standard 1 year warranty. Avid Armor takes pride in the quality of our products and guarantees that our sealers will be free from defects in material and workmanship for one year following the purchase date.
