Why am I getting an E1 Error message on the A100 | GEN 2?Updated a year ago
The E1 Error message is a safety precaution to ensure the machine's lid is locked down during the vacuum and sealing process.
If an E1 Error message is displayed, please check the following:
1. Located behind the lid on the left side of the sealer, check the microswitch.
- If the lid is not closed properly, the microswitch may not engage.
- If the lid is being closed properly, please contact Avid Armor.
2. With the sealer unplugged, check the seal wire located under the teflon tape on the seal bar.
- If the issue is the seal wire, please replace the seal wire using the spare A100 maintenance kit.
How to Replace the Seal Wire and Seal Tape on the A100 Vacuum Sealer:
Tools Needed:
- Philips Head Screwdriver
- Flat Blade Screwdriver
Make sure the vacuum sealer is unplugged and powered off.
1. Start at one end and pull up existing seal tape out of side slot.
2. Remove tape completely to expose seal wire underneath.
3. Unscrew one side with Philips to pop off seal wire.
4. Take flat blade screwdriver and lodge behind opposite side screw to hold due to tension rod.
5. Unscrew that side with Philips to remove seal wire completely.
6. Lodge flat blade behind tension rod to hold where screw will go back in place.
7. Place new seal wire, replace and tighten screws on both sides.
8. Start to peel off yellow backing on new seal tape.
9. With about an inch exposed, slip tape into side slot.
10. Slowly work across, peeling off backing, and pressing tape onto middle of seal wire.
11. Once at the end, slip tape into other side slot.
