Why is air left in my pouch after I run an 'AUTO VAC & SEAL' cycle on the USV32?Updated 2 years ago

There are many variables that could be the culprit to having air left in your pouches after running a cycle on the USV32. Below are some suggestions to achieve a tighter vacuum:

1. Try expelling any extra air prior to putting a pouch in the chamber. 

2. Make sure the opening of the pouch isn't being pinched off during the vacuum cycle (due to the lid of the chamber, the pouch being folded over, etc.). 

If the opening of the pouch is being pinched off, it prevents air being removed from the it during the vacuum cycle, then the pouch excessively blows up and is sealed with air still in it. 
Ensure the pouch is laid flat across the seal bar and the opening is inside the chamber. To properly place the pouch, insert the center tab inside of the pouch with the outer edges of the pouch resting on top of the outer two tabs.

3. Check the seal bar and make sure it is in a lowered position by pressing down on it before you run the vacuum cycle. If the seal bar is in a raised position when you run the vacuum cycle, it will press against the seal pad causing the pouch to be pinched off prematurely. 

4. The default on the USV32 is 50 seconds - try increasing your vacuum time setting.

5. Add filler to the chamber to occupy space (ex: filler plate, kitchen towel, small cutting board).
